PM to inaugurate Indore metro phase 1 along with Datia & Satna airports

During his visit to Bhopal on May 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the initial phase of the Indore Metro Rail project, along with the Datia and Satna airports, via video conferencing, as stated by a senior member of the Madhya Pradesh cabinet.

The Prime Minister will also participate in a conference commemorating the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the esteemed queen of the Malwa kingdom, according to Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Cabinet spokesman Kailash Vijayvargiya. He mentioned that PM Modi will engage in a women’s empowerment program and a women’s conference on the same day, where it is anticipated that nearly two lakh women will be in attendance.

Additionally, Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the Indore Metro Rail project and the airports through video conferencing, as noted by Vijayvargiya. Officials indicated that the first phase, spanning 5.90 kilometers, will facilitate metro train services between Gandhi Nagar and station No. 3 of the Super Corridor in Indore, the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh. The foundation stone for this phase of the Rs 7,500.80-crore metro rail project was laid on September 14, 2019, and the overall project aims to establish a metro network covering approximately 31.50 kilometers in the city.
