The Mysuru-Kushalnagar four-lane highway project will be completed by the end of 2026, said Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar.
Speaking to reporters in Kushalnagar, the BJP MP said the project is taken up under the Bharat Mala project in four packages. The four-lane highway is being built instead of the two-lane road between Mysuru and Madikeri. The land acquisition process is almost complete, he noted, adding that permission is awaited from the forest department for some clearance of road widening between Periyapatna and Kushalnagar. More than Rs 3,000 crore is being spent on the project.
The Mysuru Lok Sabha segment includes Kodagu district. Commenting on the Mysuru-Kushalnagar railway project, Yaduveer said that the survey work was completed and the railway department will take further action. On the Cauvery River conservation projects, he said that the BJP govt released Rs 40 crore for river conservation and flood prevention in Kushalnagar, which is underway.However, the Congress govt has not released money, he stated.
