MCD has arranged 1,862 property tax camps throughout its 12 zones to aid property owners in filing their taxes and taking advantage of the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme that was initiated in May.
As per MCD officials, more than 48,546 taxpayers have benefited from these camps thus far. The civic authority intends to conduct additional camps in the near future to further promote the advantages of the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme for 2025-26 and the Sumpattikar Niptaan Yojana (SUNIYO).
Taxpayers or Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) may contact their zonal offices to request a camp in their locality. “We have effectively organized over 1,800 tax camps, with significant involvement from the community,” stated MCD, further noting, “Under the SUNIYO scheme, taxpayers can receive a full waiver of property tax, interest, and penalties for dues incurred before the financial year 2020-21, provided they settle the principal property tax for the current year (2025-26) and the preceding five financial years (FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25) without incurring interest or penalties.”
