The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has updated its rail overbridge (ROB) initiative at the Mothagaon level crossing in Dombivli, increasing its capacity from two lanes to four.
This enhancement, designed to improve connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion, is anticipated to significantly reduce travel time between Dombivli and Thane, bringing the current one-hour journey down to merely 25 minutes. With an estimated budget of Rs 170 crore, the project will be carried out in partnership with the Railways.
Additionally, the KDMC has set aside Rs 68 crore to compensate 600 families impacted by the project. The proposal has been forwarded to the state government for funding approval. Upon completion, the new ROB will offer substantial relief to daily commuters in the area.
