JCB India launched its largest excavator manufactured in India, a 52-tonne model, along with over 10 new products at EXCON 2025, the South Asia construction equipment exhibition held in Bengaluru. The event provided a platform for the company to showcase technologically advanced machines and digital solutions designed for both domestic and export markets.
Deepak Shetty, CEO and MD of JCB India, highlighted the significance of the exhibition, saying, “EXCON is a forum that brings together customers, policymakers, contractors, financiers, suppliers, and technology leaders, creating an ecosystem for strategic collaboration and long-term business growth. JCB exports to more than 135 countries from India and this year we also have customers from South Asia, Africa Region and South-East Asia visiting us. EXCON allows us to understand evolving market needs and demonstrate how our latest solutions align with both global and India’s infrastructure demands.”
The new product lineup includes enhanced backhoe loaders, excavators ranging from 2 to 5 tonnes, and the 520X LC Excavator, which enters the 50-tonne category with an operating weight of 52.8 tonnes. Other highlights include the 3DX Super and 4DX backhoe loaders, the 540-180 Telehandler with an 18-meter reach height, and the Agrimax for the agriculture segment.
Shetty emphasized JCB’s customer-centric approach, stating, “At JCB, we believe, ‘If it is important for the customer, it is important for us’. Entering new segments, improving fuel efficiency, and prioritising operator safety are not just design choices, they are at the heart of JCB’s engineering DNA. Every machine we launch at EXCON this year demonstrates that belief.”
The company also showcased a hydrogen-powered genset, expanding its clean energy portfolio following the 2023 introduction of a hydrogen engine for backhoe loaders. JCB reported a 45 percent improvement in fuel efficiency over the past 15 years in India, reflecting its focus on sustainable and efficient machinery.
In addition to the machines themselves, JCB India introduced its Parts Online portal, an e-commerce platform providing easy access to its comprehensive parts catalogue. The company also displayed next-generation telematics and an Operator App as part of its Skill Development Programme. Plans are underway to launch an Excavator Simulator in early 2026, following the introduction of Daksh, a backhoe simulator, earlier in the year.
JCB India operates a robust service network to support its customers, including 700 dealer outlets across India, five parts warehouses stocking over 40,000 spare parts, 300 service vans, 183 parts vans, Workshop-on-Wheels units, 6,000 trained service engineers, and 3,500 mobile service engineers.
The new excavator models feature industry-leading innovations, such as the 81 Eco, offering 15 percent improved fuel efficiency, the NXT 150 with IntelliFlow Hydraulics delivering 8 percent higher fuel efficiency, and the 290 LR designed for deep-reach applications with a 57-foot digging depth. Mini excavators 30Z and 36R feature zero-tail-swing and reduced tail swing designs, making them ideal for confined spaces.
Additionally, the VMT 300 compactor meets Stage V compliance standards and offers 20 percent better fuel efficiency than the previous model. It features a 1200 mm drum width and lifetime-lubricated joints. The 520X LC Excavator operates with a 400 HP engine and accommodates up to a 3.4 cubic meter bucket, with a customized full maintenance contract of up to 30,000 hours.
Through its extensive product lineup, technological innovations, and robust support network, JCB India demonstrated its commitment to addressing the evolving needs of the construction and infrastructure sector at EXCON 2025. The event highlighted not only the company’s engineering capabilities but also its focus on safety, efficiency, and operator-centric solutions for the modern construction environment.
