IRCON International has obtained a letter of award (LoA) from the Meghalaya Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation, Shillong, for the establishment of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) at eight distinct locations throughout Meghalaya.
The contract, which falls under Package-II, will be carried out on a design, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis, amounting to Rs 510.46 crore. The completion timeline has been set at 36 months.
The EMRS initiative represents a key government programme focused on delivering quality residential education to tribal students in remote areas. By utilizing its engineering and project execution capabilities, IRCON will aid in advancing Meghalaya’s infrastructure development and foster socioeconomic growth within the state.
This contract further solidifies the company’s varied presence across different infrastructure sectors, extending beyond railways and transportation.
