Seven town planning (TP) schemes, which include four preliminary TP schemes of Ahmedabad and three draft TP schemes of the Alang Area Development Authority, were cleared by the state government on Monday.
The preliminary TP schemes cleared for Ahmedabad are TP Scheme No. 74 (Chandkheda-Zundal), TP Scheme No. 123/A (Naroda), TP Scheme No. 90 (Vinzol-2) and TP Scheme No. 96/A (Hansol-Asarwa).
An official statement said 4,350 economically weaker sections (EWS) housing units will be built on 83 hectares in these schemes.
The schemes cleared for Alang are draft TP Scheme No. 1 (Trapaj), Scheme No. 2 (Mahadevpar-Kathwa) and Scheme No. 3 (Alang-Manar-Kathwa).
A total of 21.14 hectares of land will be acquired for EWS housing in these three draft schemes and 18,900 EWS houses will be built, an official statement said.
