Government will sanction more houses for Dharwad under PMAY

During the bhoomi puja for the construction work of 235 houses in Kundagol town on Saturday, Somanna said 4,075 houses have already been sanctioned to urban areas of the district.

Government will sanction 3,500 more houses to urban areas and 1,300 to rural areas of Dharwad district under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, said housing and infrastructure development minister V Somanna.

During the bhoomi puja for the construction work of 235 houses in Kundagol town on Saturday, Somanna said 4,075 houses have already been sanctioned to urban areas of the district.

“We will develop slums of Kundagol town by immediately sanctioning 500 houses. Town panchayat should send Aadhaar and GPS details of beneficiaries,” he said, adding: “

The Centre has sanctioned 18 lakh houses in the current year to the state. We have already constructed 5 lakh houses, including 4 lakh in rural areas. We have sanctioned 3 lakh houses under Basava Scheme. We are transferring amount from Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation directly to the beneficiaries’ account.”

Union minister Pralhad Joshi said that the Centre has given nod for the construction of 1.15 crore houses in the country by 2024. Bal Vikas Academy president Iranna Jadi, TP president Prakash Vitthal Kokati, ZP member Chaitra Shirur and others were present.
