The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has obtained authorization to build two significant flyovers at Ambedkar Chowk and Dadi Sati Chowk to alleviate severe traffic congestion in the city.

The flyover at Ambedkar Chowk, which will span 700 meters and cost Rs 52 crore, is designed to improve traffic flow at the intersection of sectors 45/46 and 51/52. Meanwhile, the Dadi Sati Chowk flyover, extending 840 meters and costing Rs 59 crore, will link sectors 85, 86, 89, and 90.

Arun Dhankhar, GMDA’s Chief Engineer, highlighted that this initiative is part of a larger redevelopment strategy aimed at enhancing one of the city’s most congested junctions. A traffic survey indicated that Ambedkar Chowk faces considerable delays, which particularly affects ambulances, especially in the vicinity of Artemis Hospital.

Tenders for the project are anticipated to be released shortly after the Detailed Notice Inviting Tender (DNIT) is finalized.
