Adani Gangavaram Port Ltd (AGPL) on Thursday said it has set up a new 11,000 square metre warehouse with a 50,000 metric tonnes storage capacity, taking the total covered storage space as the country’s deepest port to over 1.3 lakh sq mt.
AGPL said the new warehouse will give the port greater control over the movement of cargo at multiple stages of its journey and bring flexibility to supply chains.
The new warehouse is expected to benefit primarily the agri sector by providing ease of access for sensitive cargo like fertilisers and agri products and opening the channel to Indian and global markets.
AGPL CEO BG Gandhi said plans are afoot to add another 7,000 sq mt of new warehousing space in the next couple of months as part of efforts to provide more and better services and storage at the port premises.
