FIRs have been registered against 2 more builderĀ Lalit TekchandaniĀ fromĀ ChemburĀ and his associates in Chunabhatti for cheating, forgery, criminal breach of trust, defamation, issuing threats and trespass. With the new FIRs, the number of cases against Tekchandani, against whom the police have issued a look-out circular (LOC), touched five.
One FIR was registered at Chembur police station and the other at Taloja police station. The FIRs were against Tekchandani, his wife,Ā Arun Makhija,Ā Miza Hassan IbrahimĀ and other directors ofĀ Supreme Constructions.
In the first case, civil engineer Sanjay Devnani of Devnani Developers alleged that in 2016, a proposal came to redevelop a property in Sindhi society in Chembur. He was introduced to secretary of society Sunder Vazirani and a member, Sanjay Jumani.
In 2012 Lali Bhatija, Jumani and Vazirani signed an agreement. After disputes arose in 2021, Devnani took possession of two flats. Devnani alleged that Jumani and Vazirani conspired with each other and did not give NOC, and with the help of Tekchandani forcibly took possession of the two flats.
In the other FIR, Devnani alleged that Tekchandani, Vicky Wadhwani and Prakash Lulla threatened him with dire consequences after he lodged an FIR against Tekchandani.
