Development bodies to meet on industry plot issues, property transfer fees today

Top officials of the three industrial development authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar will visit Lucknow on Wednesday for a review meeting.

Sources said that the pending issues of the industrial allottees and transfer charges on the property could be taken up at the meeting. State industries minister Satish Mahana will preside over the meeting.

Mahana told, “I am going to review what all progress has been made by the authorities over the past four months of this fiscal year. We are forwarding the applications of the established companies looking for land in Noida and Greater Noida directly to the authorities and will find out the latest status of such case.”

Sources said that the latest status of issues that affect the entrepreneurs in Noida and Greater Noida will be taken up and solutions will be offered at the review meeting to be attended by the CEOs and additional CEOs of the Noida Authority, the Greater Noida Authority and the Yamuna Expressway Authority.

Officials said that the minister will review whether the benefits offered due to the pandemic have been passed on to the industrial allottees last year. The government had waived industries from paying interest on the due amount last year (for the period between March 22 and June 30) as a strict lockdown was enforced to contain the spread of Covid-19.

“Some associations and groups have sought intervention of the government this year as well. But this time industrial units were allowed to operate during the second wave. We will seek guidance from senior officials on the issue,” said a senior officer from one of the authorities.

The transfer charges on property is another matter which could be taken up, though officials said that there is a little scope of rationalising the same. “We can create some special clusters where sub-leasing could be allowed by the main allottee without any charges. Data centre and flatted factories can be developed on this model. But for individual units or plots, it is not feasible to offer exemption from transfer charges,” said an official.
