Following strong demand from stakeholders for more time to submit objections against new jantri rates, the state govt extended the deadline to submit objections till Jan 20. However, the developers’ body CREDAI said that the time limit given by the state govt is not enough, and demanded that the time limit be extended till March 31. The state govt also allowed offline submissions of objections, which will help all stakeholders submit their objections easily.
The state govt announced draft proposed jantri rates and invited online objections for a month until Dec 20. However, the demand for an increased time limit and offline submission was raised by developers and farmers’ groups across the state.Senior minister and spokesperson of the state govt, Rushikesh Patel, said, “Chief minister Bhupendra Patel has decided to extend the time limit for submitting objections against the proposed jantri by one month. The earlier deadline was ending on Dec 20, but now one more month will be allowed. All the concerns of the stakeholders will be taken into consideration, and a final decision will be taken by the chief minister.”
Dipak Patel, president, CREDAI, said, “The state govt has extended the time limit to submit objections till Jan 20, but we are still demanding a time limit till March 31, 2025. The time given by the state govt is not enough as the stakeholders require significant time to make objections. There are 40,000 value zones in the state, and many farmers need to understand the jantri impact properly and then need time to submit representations.”
