The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is poised to commence the allotment of plots in various new industrial zones throughout the Indore region starting in April. This initiative aims to target sectors including confectionery, food processing, plastics, and other industries driven by MSMEs. Himanshu Prajapati, the executive director of MPIDC for the Indore region, stated, “MPIDC is set to initiate the allocation of land in new industrial areas from April.

A minimum of nine new industrial zones are currently being developed in the Indore region to attract industries and investments across sectors such as food processing, confectionery, plastics, engineering, and other MSME segments.”

Officials indicated that this expansion is part of a broader effort to enhance industrial infrastructure in and around Indore, which continues to experience robust demand from both MSMEs and large manufacturers. The new zones are being designed with essential infrastructure, including roads, power supply, water availability, and connectivity to major highways, to facilitate ease of doing business.

The most significant of the proposed developments is the new industrial township, Sector 8, located at Bardari in Indore district, covering an area of 451 hectares. This is followed by a 275-hectare industrial cluster at Khawasa in Seoni district and a 256-hectare industrial zone at Tarapur in Neemuch district.

Additionally, MPIDC intends to develop Sector 9 at Bhatkhedi in Indore district, spanning approximately 208 hectares, to accommodate large-scale manufacturing units. In conjunction with these larger projects, smaller industrial clusters are also being established to support MSMEs and ancillary industries.

These include Nimrani Phase 2, covering 61 hectares; Rayan, 35 hectares; Bhavsinghpura, 32 hectares; and Machal, 23 hectares. Industry representatives have noted that the availability of developed industrial land in these planned clusters will facilitate the expansion of MSME operations while also attracting new investors to the Indore region, which remains a pivotal manufacturing hub in Madhya Pradesh.
