About 20 hectare land pooled so far for development of Pithampur sector 7-MPIDC

The existing industrial belt Pithampur, state’s largest industrial area, is expanded to attract fresh investments and accommodate more industries in the industrial belt.

Land pooling for the second phase of development at the proposed sector 7 at Pithampur has started by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC). About 20 hectare has been pooled so far from private land owners near the existing proposed sector 7 for expanding the industrial belt.

The existing industrial belt Pithampur, state’s largest industrial area, is expanded to attract fresh investments and accommodate more industries in the industrial belt.

An official from MPIDC wishing not to be named said, “The exercise for pooling fresh land parcels from private owners for developing the second phase at sector 7 has started. About 20 hectare has been pooled so far and this will continue. We are targeting to identify land parcels near to the land pooled for the first phase.”

MPIDC has floated tenders for starting construction on the land pooled in the first phase. For developing the sector 7, a total of 783 hectare was pooled including around 330 hectare from farmers, 103 hectare was with the industry department while the rest is government land in the first phase.

The allotable area in the proposed industrial area sector 7 is likely around 450 hectare.

The integrated development plan for sector 7 on over 700 hectare in sector 7 at Pithampur will include industrial, residential, logistics and commercial spaces.
