- What are the standout features of the newly launched Hamm HD 99i/ HD 109i Premium Tandem Roller?
Since August 2021, HAMM has supplied new compactor models from the HC series to the Indian market. The machines, weighing 11 t, are available with or without a drum drive. All machines fulfil the requirements of the CEV Stage IV. At 90 kW (121 HP), they bring plenty of power to the construction site. Furthermore, the new compactors feature a modern, convenient operating platform, excellent driving and handling properties, as well as a highly efficient ECO mode that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.
The two new HAMM tandem rollers – the HD 99i and HD 109i – in the Indian market. The HD 99i tandem roller weighs nearly 9 t, while the HD 109i weighs approx. 10 t. Both articulated double vibration rollers are powerful all-rounders for road construction. With a drum width of 1.68 m, they can be used in innercity projects, for compaction on motorways, airports and other large areas. From the operator’s platform on the new tandem rollers, the driver has an excellent view of the construction site.
Both models are driven by a robust, water-cooled 3-cylinder John Deere engine in accordance with CEV-IV. The combination of a modern engine, large radiator, air flow and engine management leads to reduced noise emissions and up to 10% lower fuel consumption when compared to the predecessor models.
The three-point articulation in the new tandem rollers guarantees even weight distribution, offers outstanding directional stability, impressive stability when negotiating curves, and a high level of safety against overturning. All of these factors have a positive effect on the compaction result, meaning that the HD 99i and the HD 109i produce extremely flat asphalt surfaces.
Customisation is key
Furthermore, customers can order their roller with or without lane offset, and can add numerous options. This includes the HTM (HAMM Temperature Meter) for continuous measurement of the asphalt temperature at the roller, as well as ICS systems for comprehensive compaction inspection. The edge pressing and cutting device is also available in many different diameters and pressure angles.
Convenient maintenance
The HAMM HD 99i and HD 109i rollers also prove to be convenient when it comes to the daily check and regular maintenance. All access points can be easily accessed from the ground. The service flap on the driver’s platform is new and facilitates access to the turbocharger.
- Which new products of Wirtgen have been launched with CEV Stage IV accreditation?
BS IV Machines with Simple operation, comfortable workstation. The recently launched CEV-Stage IV Machines- Vögele Super 1400i, Vögele Super 1403i, Hamm HD 99i, Hamm 109i are more fuel efficient with modern operator’s platform, excellent driving comfort and handling properties. The intelligent drive technology ensures economical operation with low emissions and noise. Construction firms and companies which lease construction machinery further benefit from the integrated all-round service both manufacturers provide.
The operation is self-explanatory and does not require any special language skills. This and other details turn the operator platform on the rollers into a comfortable workstation. Bright work lighting with durable LED lights rounds off the high-quality and environmentally friendly overall picture.
- Share insights about the HP series new generation of pneumatic-tyre rollers?
The pneumatic-tyre rollers from the HP series have been on the market across the world for several months and are showing what they can do in practice. This is a completely new generation of pneumatic-tyre rollers, which have been a permanent feature of HAMM’s product range since the 1960s. The new HP series model stands out thanks to the large, newly designed water tank. Like the diesel tank, it is generously dimensioned so that the machines have sufficient capacity for a full working day without stopping to refill. For this reason alone, the rollers are already extremely productive.
For the HP series, HAMM has developed a uniform platform as the basis for all model variants in every market throughout the world. Based on this, HAMM is also continuing to offer the pneumatic-tyre rollers in different basic versions: On the one hand, the HP 180 or HP 180i model with a minimum working weight of 8 t and a maximum operating weight of 18 t and, on the other hand, the HP 280 or HP 280i model with working weights between 10 t and maximum 28 t. In doing so, HAMM provides the individual markets with the respective model to suit their regional demands with regard to weight classes and equipment versions. The HP 180i and HP 280i models (both with Easy Drive operating concept) comply with the requirements of the emissions standards EPA Tier 4 and EU Stage V, while the HP 180 and HP 280 models are designed for Tier 3 markets.
- In recent times road repair and rehabilitation has seen increasing demand, regarding this discuss the range of pavement modification equipment that the company offers?
Cold milling is one of the first measures taken when a roadway or traffic area needs to be rehabilitated. The condition of the milled surface has a key impact on the quality of the new surface courses, their service qualities and on the economical and efficient execution of the other construction measures.
An evenly milled surface, true to line and level, is a crucial factor when it comes to paving surface courses of uniform thickness and avoiding costly correction measures in the form of asphalt leveling courses.
Market-driven innovations for all applications
Wirtgen offers the most extensive line-up of cold milling machines in the industry, with milling widths of 14 mm to 4.40 m. Customers can choose from over 30 different machine types, each also available with a variety of milling widths.
