190 crores sanctioned by NHAI for NH 31 declared NPA by Banks

National Higway Authority of India (NHAI) has sanctioned 190 crore for NH-31 (Earlier NH-19). Saran MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy during his many meetings with Road Transport minister Nitin Gadkari and officials finally succeeded in getting the sanction.

The project was started in 2009 but was plagued with many problems like acquisition of land, disinterst of contractors and official proceedings. Rudy was trying to revive this project for the last six years, and finally, despite the project being declared as NPA by Banks, succeeded in getting the sanction of the said amount. Rudy said that only ten percent left work has to be done which would start soon.

The ten percent left work include rail over bridge at Ami, bridge over Dabra river, Railway line bridge near Bela factory and bridge over Gandak river at Hazipur. He said that Banks had declared those projects as NPA, but his tireless efforts yeilded . He said that NH 19 crosses from Chapra and connects Gajipur in Uttar Pradesh to Patna in Bihar. It connects many other roads also and its development would benefit locals in great way.
