The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority(VMRDA) has issued a fresh notification for the sale of 37 vacant plots. These plots are spread in its various layouts in the combined Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts.
The base prices of these plots range between 14,000 and 55,000 depending on the location. Some plots measure as high as 800 square yards.
VMRDA secretary T Venugopal said that February 24 is the last date to receive online applications. “The aspirants can participate in the online auction on https://konugolu(dot)ap(dot)gov(dot)in website. The e-auction will be conducted on February 27. An information counter regarding the sale of plots has been set up on the third floor of the VMRDA office in Siripuram. The public can avail the services by approaching the centre with required documents, Aadhaar, PAN card, passport-size photograph, etc.,” said Venugopal.
The VMRDA has so far identified 162 vacant plots in its layouts developed over a span of the last six decades. The earlier two auctions conducted for the sale of 78 plots received qualified bids for 31 plots.
The sale of these 31 plots fetched 35 crore to the urban development authority. As the VMRDA auctions often set a benchmark towards public preference and prices, the fresh auction may affect real estate market in the neighbourhood of these layouts.
