The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the construction of the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, a 90.83-km six-lane greenfield project designed to connect the AgraāLucknow and Ganga Expressways.
With an estimated cost of Rs 7,488.74 crore, this expressway will extend from Sawaijpur in Hardoi to Kudrail in Etawah, establishing a continuous high-speed corridor with future plans for expansion to eight lanes.
The project will be carried out under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model and is anticipated to be finished within 18 months. The chosen developer will also be responsible for the expressway’s maintenance for five years following its construction.
Chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this approval underscores the state’s commitment to growth driven by infrastructure. In addition to enhancing trade and travel efficiency, the expressway will improve connectivity for Farrukhabad, an important trading center and the location of the historic Sankisa Buddhist site, which attracts pilgrims from all over Asia.
