TNRERA appoints panel to execute sale deeds of 700 buyers in Coimbatore

The Rera authority will write to the country planning department for permission; then the association will apply for registration with Rera and the homebuyers’ body will complete the project.

The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRera) has appointed a committee of Rera officials to execute sale deeds for undivided share/plots in favour of the association of buyers of a housing project in Coimbatore that has been stuck for quite some time.

The Rera authority will write to the country planning department for permission; then the association will apply for registration with Rera and the homebuyers’ body will complete the project.

While this order brings big relief to 700 homebuyers, it has come at a time several Rera authorities are not enforcing execution orders against builders despite their repeated failures to comply with orders.

In this case, Sahara Housing Investors Association (SHIA), a homebuyers’ body formed by buyers who had invested in the Sahara City Homes project in Coimbatore from 2005 onwards had filed a complaint with the TNRera against Sahara Prime City in March 2019 about the stoppage of the project. The builder had promised possession of houses from 2011 onwards.
