Five years after the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) came into existence in Telangana, the state government has finally decided to appoint full-time chairman and two members (judicial and technical) to the authority.
A notification has been issued to appoint RERA chairman and other members a couple of days ago. Until now, RERA was headed by ex-chief secretary Somesh Kumar.
Official sources said the government has decided to appoint full-time RERA after a PIL on RERA appointments was filed by Forum for Good Governance in Telangana HC last year.
