Subramanian Sarma, currently Wholetime Director and President (Energy) at Larsen & Toubro Ltd has been elevated to Deputy Managing Director and President of the construction major with effect from April 2.

The company’s board has also extended Sarma’s term till February 2028, subject to shareholders’ approval in the upcoming Annual General Meeting.“Mr. Sarma has been instrumental in transforming our hydrocarbon and energy businesses, driving innovation, operational excellence, and global competitiveness. His elevation is well deserved, and I am confident that his leadership will further strengthen L&T’s growth trajectory.” said S.N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director, L&T.
With a career spanning more than 40 years, Sarma has had extensive experience working in West Asia and handled complete oil and gas value chain across various geographies. He was appointed to the board of L&T in August 2015.
Sarma is a graduate in chemical engineering and completed his master’s from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
