Soon New software for property registration in Tamil Nadu

Addressing the event, the minister said that all the registry works in Tamil Nadu are computerized and the registration work should take a duration of not more than 15 minutes.

State commercial tax and registration minister P Moorthy on Saturday said that the department will be launching Star 3.0 software in the registration process soon and this software will weed out all the minor glitches in the process.

Moorthy held a review meeting with sub-registrars of the Madurai region at the Madurai collector’s office on Saturday.

Addressing the event, the minister said that all the registry works in Tamil Nadu are computerized and the registration work should take a duration of not more than 15 minutes. All the payments are also made online. People coming to sub-registrar offices need not carry any cash in hand since all the transactions are made online, he said.

If anyone demands money, the public can complain to the inspector general of registration and secretary of the department through the numbers provided at the offices.

He urged the public to mention the guidance value while registering properties and pay the fees pertaining to the transaction.

Madurai collector M S Sangeetha, DIG registration Ravindranath and officials participated.
