South Eastern Railway has awarded Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) a contract of Rs 191.53 crore, the PSU announced in its exchange filing on June 21. To support a 3000MT loading target, the PSU will take care of the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 132 KV traction substation and ancillary posts on the Raj Khaswan, Nayagarh-Bolsection. The project has eighteen months to be finished.
“Rail Vikas Nigam Limited emerges as the Lowest Bidder (L1) from SER HQ-ELECTRICAL/SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY for ‘Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 132 KV Traction Substation, Sectioning post (SPs), and Sub sectioning post (SSPs) in 2x25KV System on Rajkhaswan- Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway to meet 3000MT loading target on EPC mode,” the Rail sector PSU said.
In the fourth quarter of the financial year (FY) 2024, RVNL—which undertakes a range of railway projects, including electrification and new lines—reported a 33.16 percent increase in earnings, rising from Rs 359.25 crore in Q4FY23 to nearly Rs 478 crore.
Over the same year, the company’s revenue increased 17.38% to Rs 6,714.01 crore. On Friday, June 21, 2024, the company’s stock price closed at Rs 409.70, up 5.77 percent.
