Rajasthan is likely to get another Vande Bharat train in January, said officials from North Western Railway (NWR).Officials said that the service would either be for Jaipur-Indore or towards Ahmedabad.
The route plan is yet to be finalised, but discussions are underway.”Preparations for operating a Vande Bharat train and the state’s first MEMU train in Jaipur division of NWR have been going on for several months.
To reduce the load from Jaipur Junction, it is yet to be finalized whether the Vande Bharat service between Jaipur-Indore will start from Jaipur Junction or other railway stations of the city like Durgapura or Khatipura station with stoppages at Gandhinagar Jaipur and the junction railway station.
For operation of Vande Bharat train, the railway administration is working on making the journey more secure for passengers after several cases of stone pelting on the train have been reported from the state.
In November, the railway board was also considering operation of Vande Bharat train from the state till Chandigarh, but it was withdrawn due to logistical issues. In September, PM Modi had flagged off the third Vande Bharat between Udaipur-Jaipur.
