Mumbai’s luxury residential sector has witnessed yet another significant transaction, with Radha Tanti, an angel investor and spouse of Girish Tanti, the executive vice chairman of Suzlon Energy, acquiring a high-end apartment in the upscale Worli area for Rs 123.5 crore.
This transaction pertains to an apartment situated on the 44th habitable floor of the ultra-luxurious residential tower, Artesia, located in proximity to the Doordarshan Center in Worli. The apartment boasts a RERA carpet area of approximately 6,772.28 sq ft, in addition to an extra 367.05 sq ft of balcony or open terrace space, positioning it among the larger residences within the development.
The acquisition was made from K Raheja Corp’s Ravi Raheja and Sumati Raheja. The buyer has incurred a stamp duty of around Rs 6.18 crore for the registration of this transaction, which was completed on Monday, as indicated by documents obtained from CRE Matrix, a real estate data analytics firm. Emails sent by ET to Suzlon Energy and K Raheja Corp went unanswered.
Worli has become a sought-after location for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and affluent families, attributed to its central position and enhanced connectivity. Infrastructure improvements, such as the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the coastal road, have further facilitated access to major commercial hubs, including Lower Parel and the Bandra-Kurla Complex. Property consultants assert that transactions of this magnitude highlight the robustness of Mumbai’s luxury housing market.
The limited availability of large-format residences in prime areas, combined with strong financial standings and a preference for tangible assets, continues to drive demand at the upper end of the market, despite buyers being discerning.
