Property registrations would be affected between Oct 18 and 21 across Maharashtra owing to a major upgrade in the state’s online payment system, registration department officials told TOI on Tuesday.
Up to 13,000 properties are registered in the state every day. “The upgrade in the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) was to be carried out last week, but postponed owing to Dasara festivities.
Property buyers will not be able to verify their challans during the period,” an official said.
The department said while the registration offices would stay open, no property transactions would take place during the four days. More than 50 departments linked to GRAS would be affected during the four-day period. “The (system closure) announcement has come from the virtual treasury for the migration of data to the cloud. The system will start operations from Oct 22,” the official said.
