Police registered a cheating case against Durani MKK, promoter of realty firm ND Developers, for allegedly cheating an investor of around Rs 1.2 crore.
The complainant, Soumyadeep Saha from Bennett Coleman and Co Ltd (BCCL), MG Road, stated that in 2012, the company entered into an agreement with Durani to purchase five flats constructed by him near Anekal, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
To complete the purchase formalities, officials from BCCL transferred nearly Rs 3 crore into the realty firm’s bank account on April 30, 2018.
Later, Durani handed over three flats to BCCL, the complainant said.
“In 2016, Durani said he would retain the remaining two flats and return around Rs 1.2 crore, value of the two flats (B-805 and C-901). But till now, he hasn’t paid the money and is avoiding us when we try to meet him. Further, he sold the two flats by creating fake documents with an intention of cheating,” read the complaint.
