Now, property tax with rebate facility extended till July 31

Chandigarh administration, on Thursday, extended the date of filing property tax for two months with rebate facility. However, no decision has been taken about exemption on the tax amount. The tax has been imposed on colonies in the city for the first time.

The extension has been given in both commercial and residential category of tax payers. Earlier, the last date of filing property tax with rebate facility was May 31.

The UT administrator extended the last date till July 31. Home-cum-local bodies secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav issued orders in this regard on Thursday evening.

The MC general house has passed two resolutions, one to extend the date to pay tax and another to give at least 50% concession or if possible, waive off tax on colonies.
