Chitradurga ZP CEO M S Diwakar on Wednesday launched ‘e-swattu’ scheme, a digital initiative to door-deliver property documents to rightful owners.
The initiative, said to be the first in the state, aims at avoiding delay, middle-men, and check corruption. e-swattu is an important document for owners of house/ site located in ‘gram thana’ (village limits) for selling/ dividing the property or while taking loan from banks. “House owner has to pay Rs 50 as fee for getting e-swattu,” the CEO told.
Two villages – Guttinadu and MR Colony under Mattada Kurubarahatti GP limits – were selected for the launch of the initiate, and e-swattu documents were delivered to 80 houses on Wednesday, the CEO said.
Villagers expressed their happiness over “such a wonderful initiative” which helped them save time and money and spared them the trouble of going to the office concerned to get the document.
“Our officials will go to village 10-15 days in advance and collect relevant documents from individual house owners. They put them in Sakala, verify their authenticity before preparing e-swattu documents for door-delivering them,” the CEO said, adding he is planning to extend the initiative to all 1,368 villages coming under 189 GPs of Chitradurga district in the coming days.
Deputy CEO Rangaswamy, PDOs and GP chairman and members were present.
