The Noida Authority has completed the 5.5-km Bhangel elevated road over the Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera corridor, a long-pending project aimed at easing connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida.
The elevated road, linking Vikas Marg in Sector 51 to the Noida Special Economic Zone (NSEZ), has been built at a cost of ₹608 crore. Construction began in June 2020 and was originally scheduled for completion in December 2022, but the project faced delays of more than two years. Once operational, it is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters moving between Noida’s commercial sectors and Greater Noida’s residential and industrial hubs.
Alongside the Bhangel stretch, the Authority is pushing ahead with other major infrastructure projects. The 5.54-km Chilla Elevated Road is targeted for completion by December 2027. The corridor will connect Mayur Vihar to Akshardham via Sector 14, improving a key traffic bottleneck at the Delhi-Noida border.
Public transport infrastructure is also receiving a boost. Work is in progress on a 2.6-km Metro link from Tugalpur village to Botanical Garden, with an investment of ₹416.34 crore.
In addition, a new 11.56-km Metro corridor from Sector 142 to Greater Noida West, with eight proposed stations, has received approval from the Uttar Pradesh government and is awaiting central clearance. Another 17.4-km Metro line between Sector 51 and Knowledge Park, featuring 11 stations, is also pending final approval from the Centre.
Beyond road and Metro projects, the Authority is planning urban enhancements at major commercial hubs. These include walking tracks, cycling paths, organized food vending zones, and additional parking spaces around Sector 18, GIP Mall, and Botanical Garden Metro station.
With the completion of the Bhangel elevated road and the pipeline of ongoing projects, Noida’s transport network is expected to undergo a major capacity upgrade. The combined effect of elevated corridors and Metro expansions is aimed at reducing congestion, improving inter-city connectivity, and supporting the region’s rapid residential and commercial growth.
