The Noida Authority has cancelled the land allotment for Bouquet, a commercial project comprising retail units and office premises developed by ATS, in Sector 132 over non-payment of Rs 15.11 crore dues. ATS has already received an occupation certificate (OC) for the project that was launched in 2015.
The project has 600 units, located in buildings developed for offices and those housing retail spaces, and almost all of them have been sold. Some allottees have already started operating offices from the premises. On Wednesday, the Noida Authority restricted the entry of allottees, following which they protested in front of the compex.
Delhi resident Ajay Jain who bought a unit in this project in 2016, was among the protesters. “Many of us have already made full payment,” he said. Nikhil Singhal, another buyer, said, “It is disheartening. Such a strong step was unwarranted and it will directly impact our finances as we have already invested our hardearned money in this project. I booked a property in this project in 2017 for opening my office.”
Surya Prakash Gupta, who lives in Vivek vihar in Sector 82, has also invested in the project for an office. “When we heard Noida Authority was not allowing people who have offices there and employees in those offices to enter the premises,.we went to protest with banners in hand,” said Gupta.
An official of the Noida Authority said that the land was allotted to ATS for the IT-enabled services project. “The builder has not made up-to-date payment to the tune of Rs 15.11 crore. The OC was issued by the Authority last year, as the builder had made up-to-date payment till that time. However, after that, the next dues have been pending due to which the action has been taken. Anyway, the builder can get the allotment restored after clearing the dues with penalties.”
