Motilal Oswal Family Trust buy two apartments for Rs 101 crore

Motilal Oswal Trust has bought two duplex apartments on Peddar Road for Rs 101 crore, setting a record of sorts. Did somebody say slowdown?

The Motilal Oswal Family Trust has bought two lavish duplex apartments measuring 6,800 sq ft for Rs 101 crore at a posh high-rise in South Mumbai. The flats located in 33 South Condominium on Peddar Road were bought at Rs 1.48 lakh per square foot, which is one of the highest rates for residential property in the city in recent times.

This is the second biggest real estate deal of 2020 in terms of amount.

The Oswals currently live in Parel area.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited is a diversified financial services firm offering a range of financial products and services.

The duplex apartments are located on 13th and 17th floors of the building.

The seller is developer Samir Bhojwani, who is known for some big-ticket deals. In October, Bhojwani had sold a huge apartment to actor Hrithik Roshan for Rs 96 crore.

The latest deal was struck on December 22.

The documents accessed by Mumbai Mirror show that the Oswals carried out four separate registrations for the flats. While two of the flats sold by Bhojwani to Oswals cost Rs 25.50 crore each, the other two cost Rs 25 crore each.

All the duplexes have internal staircases and separate balconies, exclusive elevators, fire exits along with two car parking spaces for each flat, flower beds and other amenities and right to use common passage and refuge area.

33 South Condominium has super luxury homes with only duplex apartments. The area where this building is located is considered to be one of the most expensive in Mumbai where some of the richest people of the city live.

Antilia, the lavish house of the Ambani family, is located just a few metres away from 33 South Condominium.

Oswals refused to comment on the deal.

Mumbai Mirror tried to reach Bhojwani for comment but did not get a response till the time of going to press.

In March this year, businessman Neeraj Kochhar had bought several floors in Indiabulls Blu for Rs 132 crore. This was the biggest deal of the year.

Later in July, businessman Anurag Jain had paid Rs 100 crore for two adjacent apartments in Carmichael Residencies in south Mumbai.
