Meeting for property tax discount on September 12

“All the legal and technical aspects would be checked to reach a breakthrough. The municipal commissioner has clarified that there is no need to pay the additional bills till further order,” he said.

The state higher and technical education minister, Chandrakant Patil, on Saturday said a meeting would be held in Mumbai on September 12 in the presence of the state urban development department authorities to discuss issues pertaining to the withdrawal of property tax discount.

“All the legal and technical aspects would be checked to reach a breakthrough. The municipal commissioner has clarified that there is no need to pay the additional bills till further order,” he said.

The PMC recently sent SMSs to the property tax owners to pay additional tax, triggering confusion among residents. Patil said the issue required a detail discussion on technical grounds. The Loklekha Committee objected to the issue, he said after a meeting with PMC authorities to discuss various issues.

He said, “We have asked the civic authorities to identify 10 key road stretches requiring urgent repairs. We have told them to go for short tenders to avoid delay.”

The minister said works of 24X7 equitable water supply and Mula-Mutha rejuvenation had progressed.
