The district administration has constituted five task teams to conduct a survey and ascertain the eligibility of the people living in the area for the allotment of the houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Each team comprises officials from LMC, LDA, Revenue Department, and District Urban Development Agency (DUDA). The teams have been tasked with conducting a comprehensive survey of the Akbarnagar area and the residents who are to be rehabilitated.
District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar has appointed additional district magistrate Rakesh Singh as the nodal officer to oversee the survey and furnish the report within seven days.
“There are five sectors in Akbarnagar that have to be surveyed. For that, five different teams have been constituted. They have been given seven days to complete the comprehensive survey and submit the report,” Gangwar said.
Sharing details of the survey, additional district magistrate Rakesh Singh said that the survey work has been initiated and will be completed in the stipulated time. He further said that during the survey, the team will identify all the eligible residents who can avail of alternative housing under the PMAY.
“The main objective is to find out all the eligible beneficiaries of the PMAY scheme. Based on the findings, a report will be compiled and submitted to the DM office for further consideration,” Singh said.
The LDA is evacuating residents of Akbarnagar because as per them the colony has been built on Kukrail riverbed in violation of the norms of the National Green Tribunal.
