The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has prolonged the operational hours of its zonal offices to assist in the collection of commercial and residential taxes prior to the conclusion of the financial year. Officials have announced that all zonal offices will be open from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
On March 30 and 31, the offices will operate from 10 am to 11 pm. A special initiative will also be implemented on these dates to recover outstanding residential taxes. The civic authority has encouraged taxpayers to settle their dues before March 31 to prevent incurring interest charges.
Officials indicated that a 12% interest fee will be applied to residential tax payments made after the deadline. LMC officials stated that the extended hours are intended to maximize tax compliance and provide defaulters with the opportunity to settle their outstanding dues within the financial year.
