LMC offers 15% discount on property tax till June 30

Lucknow Municipal Corporation is offering a 15% discount to property owners who will pay their 2024-25 financial year tax by June 30. This discount applies only to those with no outstanding tax dues from previous years.

Municipal commissioner Inderjit Singh said, “We previously offered a 10% discount for timely tax payment. We’ve decided to increase this by an additional 5%.”

He explained that this measure aims to incentivize timely tax payment. The LMC recently achieved its highest ever annual revenue for fiscal year 2023-24, exceeding Rs 650 crore, mainly due to over 26% in property and house tax collection, rising from Rs 338 crore to Rs 425 crore compared to the previous year.“This year, we aim to generate revenue of up to Rs 1,000 crore. This will allow us to improve civic amenities like solid waste management, roads, drainage systems, and other services,” he added.
