The KMC buildings department has been asked to conduct a survey of highly insecure structures of the civic body that have been lying abandoned and posing a threat to pedestrians.
After identifying such structures, the buildings department will demolish them.
This order was issued on Thursday after the death of a person when an abandoned KMC water pump house collapsed at Purna Das Road on Wednesday.
“We will start a survey of our properties across 144 wards that have become dilapidated and hence need to be razed,” said a KMC buildings department official.
