Kalyan-Dombivli civic body collects Rs 161 crore property tax in five months

This year, the civic body has recorded a higher collection of Rs 50 crore in the same period.

Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) collected property tax of Rs 161 crore in the last five months, against the collection of Rs 110 crore in 2020.

This year, the civic body has recorded a higher collection of Rs 50 crore in the same period compared to last year.

Property tax is one of the major sources of revenue for civic bodies. It is used for development purposes in the city.

Madhavi Phofale, Public Relation Officer of KDMC said, “During the financial year from April 2021 to August 2021, taxpayers who pay the entire amount of property tax through cash/online or cheque were given 5% relief in property tax. The citizens of Kalyan-Dombivli have responded scheme positively by paying taxes”.

In the financial year 2020-2021, KDMC had also collected Rs 427 crore despite the pandemic.
