JMC seals 4 buildings over UD tax dues

On Tuesday, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) sealed four properties located in the Civil Lines zone due to outstanding urban development tax. A total of nine properties were subject to recovery proceedings, with five owners settling their dues immediately, resulting in approximately Rs 12 lakh in revenue.

The other four properties were attached and sealed in accordance with established regulations. Devanand Sharma, the divisional commissioner for Civil Lines, stated, “During the operation, the owners of five properties paid their overdue amounts.

The action of attachment and sealing was executed against the four properties as per the regulations. We are ensuring the recovery of the outstanding amount, including interest and penalties as mandated by the state government. JMC commissioner Gaurav Saini emphasized that the municipal corporation would not exhibit any leniency towards those in default.

No concessions will be made in the collection of overdue urban development tax. The actions of attachment and sealing will persist against individuals who do not remit the tax punctually. Collecting revenue is crucial for facilitating development projects within the city,” he remarked.
