JMC-Heritage and JMC-Greater administration have now become strict with commercial and residential establishments who have not paid urban development (UD) tax.
JMC-Heritage administration attached four properties in Hawa Mahal zone on Friday after the property owners did not respond to notices regarding timely payment of UD tax.
Urban development tax of over Rs 12.70 lakh was outstanding by these property owners.
“On Friday, action was taken against property owners who had pending UD tax. During the action, one of the property owners gave a cheque and paid the tax on the spot, while four others did not respond after which their properties were attached,” said Abhishek Surana, commissioner of JMC-Heritage.
In JMC-Greater, similar action was taken on Friday, when owners of six commercial and institutional properties deposited the UD tax on the spot.
In Malviya Nagar zone, officials took action on seven properties out of which owners of six properties deposited the outstanding UD tax on the spot and one property was sealed on the spot. The six property owners submitted UD tax of over Rs 27.56 lakh.
