Jindal Cement plans four-fold capacity expansion

Jindal Cement plans to increase its production capacity fourfold to 10 million tonnes within the next two to three years, supported by an investment of approximately Rs 3,000 crore.

This expansion will boost output at its Raigarh facility in Chhattisgarh and Angul facility in Odisha, which currently have a total capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year. Of the total investment, Rs 2,500 crore is allocated to enhance capacity by 4.5 million tonnes—3 million tonnes at Raigarh and 1.5 million tonnes at Angul.

This expansion is strategically aligned with India’s strong infrastructure and housing development, which is anticipated to maintain a high demand for cement and steel. As a part of Naveen Jindal’s Jindal Steel group, the company intends to utilize its closeness to steel operations to improve operational efficiency.

This initiative positions Jindal Cement to become a key player in India’s expanding cement market. CEO Rohit Vohra remarked, ā€œWe are building scale in a calibrated and sustainable manner.ā€
