J Kumar Infraprojects has got the tender to construct a portion of Chennai Port-Maduravoyal Expressway project.
The 19.8-km double-decker flyover project is to be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹5,855 crore. NHAI has split the project into four packages and bids to construct a 5-km stetch (package-2) waa floated earlier this year.
Many firms like Transrail Lighting Ltd, Afcons Infrastructure, Ramalingam-Braithwaite JV, GR Infraprojects, JRA Infracon and J Kumar Infraprojects submitted bids. Among them, J Kumar’s bid of ₹1,015 crore was the lowest. It is nearly 16 percent below the NHAI estimate. So, contract is expected to be awarded soon.
