IMC demolishes 15 illegal residential structures in Bangarda

A team of IMC’s removal wing along with officials from district administration reached the area and started removing the structures which were found being constructed on government land.

Continuing its drive against illegal constructions, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) demolished 15 underconstruction residential structures in Bangarda area on Thursday morning.

A team of IMC’s removal wing along with officials from district administration reached the area and started removing the structures which were found being constructed on government land.

The drive was carried out by a team of 50 officials and workers and three earth movers were pressed into the service. The drive continued for about three hours and all constructions were demolished. Heavy police force from nearby police station was also deployed in the area during the course of removal action.

IMC’s zonal building officer Vivesh Jain said that they demolished 15 structures, which included six plinth level structures, five lintel level and four roof-level structures that were constructed on around 9000 sq ft area at Ram Nagar Colony.

He said that they had already issued notices in the name of the occupants and people involved in illegal construction and encroachment on government land with instructions to remove the structures. “The structures belonged to different people who bought plots from private colonizers,” he said, while adding that the occupants have been requested to share details of people from whom they bought plots.
