The Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (H-Rera) has imposed a penalty of Rs 15 lakh on a developer for its failure to fulfill the conditions of the registration certificate for its housing project in Sector 89.
In its order, H-Rera said the developer, Signature Infrabuild Pvt Ltd, has been unable to furnish within the specified time some mandatory documents like fire safety and environment-related NOCs, service plan and estimates for its project, Signature Global Proxima 2, despite being given several opportunities.
Taking action on the delay, the regulator imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh each (totalling Rs 15 lakh) for not furnishing the three documents — fire safety NOC, service plan and estimates, and environmental clearance.
As per the norms, the developer is bound to furnish a declaration in committing to produce a statement of accounts duly certified and signed by a chartered accountant.
H-Rera chairman KK Khandelwal said that during the scrutiny of documents related to Signature Global Proxima 2 in Sector 89, it was found that there were deficiencies in the application for registration after which directions were issued to the developer. “The authority has a mandate to enforce implementation of Rera guidelines,” he said.
