The standing committee of the GHMC, led by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, approved numerous significant infrastructure initiatives during its meeting held on 29 January 2026.
Among the projects that received approval was the development of a six-lane flyover connecting Bairamalguda to Owaisi Junction, which will necessitate the acquisition of land from 240 properties. The committee also authorized the Mylardevpally–Shamshabad Road grade separator, the road over bridge (RoB) at Patigadda, the NFCL Junction flyover, and the TV9 underpass.
Furthermore, administrative approvals were provided for road construction under CRMP Phase-II, contracts for traffic signal maintenance, stormwater drainage systems, sewerage projects in Sanathnagar and Fatehnagar, and the enhancement of roads in various areas of the city. In addition, the committee sanctioned the establishment of a 50-bed Community Health Centre in Yakutpura SRT Colony.
