Ghaziabad police confiscates Rs 5 crore property of a builder under Gangster Act

Dhanpal, the owner of Nidhi builder, used to make builder flats and sell one flat to multiple buyers. Over 15 fraud cases have been lodged against him in different police stations in the district.

The city police on Wednesday seized property worth Rs 5 crore of a criminal under the Gangster Act. He is also a builder in Sahibabad.

Dhanpal, the owner of Nidhi builder, used to make builder flats and sell one flat to multiple buyers. Over 15 fraud cases have been lodged against him in different police stations in the district.

Pradeep Tripathi, the SHO of Sahibabad police station said the accused had made a project in Ramprastha colony in Sahibabad. He had divided the project in two ways — one for flats and one for plots. “The accused had sold one unit to several people. He had already taken 80%-90% of the property’s amount from the victims,” he said.

Subsequently, Dhanpal was arrested and booked under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating). Even the Gangster Act was imposed upon him.

“On February 15, Dhanpal was arrested in the case of fraud and currently he is lodged in Dasna jail. Police are trying to find more illegal properties, if any, of the accused,” added the SHO.
