DTCP demolishes 100 structures in Gurugram

The move comes three days after DTCP started surveying colonies across the city to check if any rules have or are being violated. The drives were conducted in 12 illegal colonies.

 The enforcement wing of town and country planning department (DTCP) cleared 60 acres of more than 100 structures, a road network and boundary walls .The move comes three days after DTCP started surveying colonies across the city to check if any rules have or are being violated. The drives were conducted in 12 illegal colonies.

According to the department, a special team had informed officials about these 12 illegal colonies which were identified in and around the city during the survey. After this, the higher officials ordered demolition of these colonies developed in violation of Haryana Development and Regulation Of Urban Areas Act, 1975. The department has also asked police to register FIR against the offenders.

District town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav said, “Just three days after the survey, we carried out the demolition with the help of earthmovers in presence of police personnel.”

“Started with Farrukhnagar, the enforcement team razed four under-construction buildings, 67 structures, boundary walls of six plots, one property dealer office and three shops in four colonies spread over 27 acres of land. After this, the team reached Sultanpur and demolished three illegal colonies that were being carved out on 11 acres. The team then demolished three illegal colonies covering 17 acres in Mubarakpur and lastly razed two illegal colonies in Danoda area,” said Yadav.

On February 8, the officials had said that the survey in Farrukhnagar is likely to be completed soon and it had already started issuing show-cause notices to the offenders, who indulged in carving out colonies without permission and other mandatory approvals.

DTCP also requested police to probe and register FIR under section 10(2) of Act No. 8 of 1975 against the offenders as well as other offenders whose name gets associated with the case.
