National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) is all set to construct a new flyover in Lucknow. Starting from Bitholi railway crossing in Jankipuram, this overbridge will end at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow road.
Being built at a budget of ₹140 crores, the flyover is expected to open for public use by the middle of 2024.
Notably, the NHAI is currently undertaking soil testing on different areas on this route before going ahead with the construction process. To widen the existing road for the flyover, all the buildings and shops on this way are being demolished by the authority at present.
Linked to Sitapur Road, Hardoi Road, Ayodhya, Dubagga Road, Jankipuram and Tedhi Pulia, this route makes for one of the busiest areas in the city, leading to a lot of traffic issues. In addition to this, the intersection leading to IIM Lucknow is also a frequented road in the city. This overbridge is planned to solve all these issues by creating a network of flyovers facilitating direct connections across the city.
Aimed at putting an end to the menace caused by the frequent traffic jams on this route, the flyover will act as a boon for more than 2 lakh people on a daily basis. After the construction of this overbridge, vehicles coming from IIM road will be able to go directly to Munshi Pulia without getting stuck in a traffic jam. Upon completion, this overbridge will decongest traffic while streamlining vehicular flow on this route.
