Chandigarh administration to auction 30 industrial plots

In February this year, UT administrator Banwarilal Purohit had approved auctioning of all UT vacant/unsold industrial and commercial properties on a freehold basis.

The UT administration is all set to hold its first auction of industrial plots on a freehold basis.

“Around 30 plots have been identified in the industrial area by the UT estate office for offering for sale. The department in the past few days has removed encroachments and cleaned up sites. The final approval of the competent authority is likely to be taken in the coming week,” said an official.

In February this year, UT administrator Banwarilal Purohit had approved auctioning of all UT vacant/unsold industrial and commercial properties on a freehold basis.

The decision had come after the UT had failed to find any takers for its leasehold properties offered in auction.

Meanwhile, the estate office on Saturday extended the auction dates of the commercial and institutional properties. Now the auction of these properties will be held from October 18 to October 20.
